There is something I really REALLY want to write about here. But I can’t yet. Because while it could be something really awesome, it isn’t yet. And it may not be. I’m waiting to find out. So, to keep my mind off it, I’ve been playing Dragon Age: Origins again. Trying to get through my favorite characters. I have a large amount. Some duplicates. But with Dragon Age II coming in a few months, I need to trim down my saves to my absolute favorites.
So far these are the chosen ones.
From the Mage Origin: Caislyn Amell. She’s an Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer/Battlemage spec. We’re almost finished with Awakening right now. She’s made Alistair king, and remained his chancellor with the romance active.
There is only one Human origin, the Human Noble. I only played two, and my favorite is of course the one that defeated the blight, and married the King. She’s a rogue, specced duelist/assassin.
I’ve played both Dwarf origins, the Noble and the commoner. So far, my favorite is still my commoner. She’s badass, gritty, and tough as nails. She’s a warrior, nothing subtle about her. She has scars, a crooked nose, but I love her.
One of my nobles will have to go forward, so I’m probably going to choose the first one. I played a second to try the romance with Alistair with her. But my first one is special. I don’t have a screenshot of her, but she’s the one that I had this commission done with. She’s a sword/shield warrior.
And last but not least, my elf. A Dalish. I may do a city elf still. but Lyra turned out very well considering the Dalish origin is severely lacking in the game. It has to be almost fully filled in RP wise by the player. That makes two rogues, but Lyra is an archer, where Kasha is all daggers.
Now, most of them have all made the same choices. So it may seem odd to import each save into DA2. But Bioware is pretty good at sticking tiny details in for each origin, even though our Wardens aren’t IN this game. We can still import their world as they left it. And we all know how I am about having all my bases covered don’t we?
