I did a bad thing. Well, a couple really. First of all, after a night of Epic Fail, I logged in to WoW to try and pick myself up. The first thing I see is a new member cursing out the guild. Now, if you’ve read that link, you’d know I was already IN Mama Bear mode. I’m fiercely loyal to this guild, they took me in, they put up with me, they have treated me really well. So, Lady Jess went on a Jessyfit with the troll.
Do I know better? yes. Should I have restrained myself, yes. But I did not. The issue was, he asked a question in gchat, during a 25 man raid, and didn’t get a reply. Well, that happens. We all do it, we all get busy and forget to look at guild chat. Be it in a 25 man raid, a battleground, questing, or just relaxing and farming or working on achievements. Sometimes we are even tabbed out chatting, or reading blogs, strategies, researching something. Or, AFK dealing with something at home.
So, what do you do if you get no response? Go off on a tangent with your oh so intelligent foul language accusing your new guild of utter disrespect and flail about like a two year old? Or do you assume everyone is busy/not looking, and wait until you see some gchat activity pick up and ask again? The second choice, to me seems obvious. It happens to me, mostly I just wait, or if I’m asking a specific person, I’ll jokingly threaten to give them a middle name and “full name” them in chat.
Don’t cause drama in your guild channel over a missed question people. It won’t matter how nice you are when not provoked. You are new, and for many this will be their first impression of you. You likely won’t get any sympathy from the veteran members, and only serve to prove the solidarity that exists between them.
Veterans…don’t feed the trolls. They only bite the hand that feeds them, and troll spit takes days to wash off.

As the countdown to the patch runs, we are still doing Kara for badges and gear ups. I’m one of the few mains desperately trying to get my gear finished up. Simply because, oddly, my alts leveled before my main. Wierd circumstances, and too long a story to tell. But, she’s getting close. Chess however has been her nemesis. REFUSING to drop a certain pair of boots. except for that one time, when I rolled a friggin THREE! This run it seemed my luck was changing. Maiden dropped Mitts of the Treemender, Moroes dropped Duck Idol of the Avian Heart (useful in WOTLK finally), and even Netherspite felt generous and dropped Shining Chain of the Afterworld. But still, I trembled with trepidation going into chess. So, on my way to my water elemental I stopped by Medivh’s ghost.
/threaten with the wrath of doom /slap Medivh
And…BINGO Forestlord Striders! I almost fainted. we almost had to call 911. Not for me, but because a certain real life friend and fellow guildie comes over vent with “Awww poor Jess. How many times has she tried, and those boots still haven’t dropped”. I grumbled at him something about rubbing it in. Then our Friendly Neighborhood Fim, announced that noone there would want these boots would they?? I rolled….and rolled a 9!!! Thank ELUNE I was the only leather wearer. Well except Fim’s rogue…with his bare feet.
And what about all that honor I built up this week? And those 40 Eye of the Storm marks? Well the honor was spent on Vindicator’s Band of Salvation to replace my LAST equipped blue, besides a couple Idols. 34 more badges of justice, and I’ll have her Grovewalker’s Leggings, and she’ll FINALLY be complete. And ready to head off into the expansion. This time…she is FIRST to level.

Deaths Per Second that is. Kara part two was tonight. And although Eyebrows, Boomkin of Doom tried, he could not beat my mass quantities of horizontal DPS. I think he beat me last night though. I actually had a spectacular yoyo effect on Netherspite. I died, my Twisting Nether trinket procced, so I rezzed, I died again, and got a battle rez, after which I died AGAIN. That’s right, 3 deaths, 10 seconds. I’m the queen. I actually beat everyone. TWELVE deaths all told. Why do I have points in Subtlety again?
Tonight we had another newish tank, so there was alot of learning going on. Both tanks picked up their roles, and are progressing quite well. This is where I brag about my guild again. I admittedly was spoiled by my former raid leader. It was terrifying thinking of moving, and having a new one. But, not only has every leader been calm, and easy to listen to, they are all incredibly patient. I was so used to a tank always leading, but these guys can run with a priest leading, and that priest (an example from this run actually, when he wasn’t on his rogue) will still know what every class, including the tank needs to know/do/remember. I guess that comes from their many many alts/mains having already come through all of this. I’m happy to say I’ve gotten used to their way of doing things finally, my biggest challenge going from one guild to another. We had some decent drops going around. Still no boots for me, but as long as I need badges, I can keep trying. Grats to Awl on her new shinies!
Epic Flight is coming along. I’m working on the last 2k gold now. After Kara I went to my hunter and farmed some basilisks for the meat and skins, flew around gathering herbs, killed some bog lords and herbed them til my bags were full. After which I went to Jess, had her make Elixirs and pots, and a flask, sent those off to my broker alt to AH. Gotta love when you decide to make 10 elixirs and get 20 out of it. I made over 100 potions, and elixirs in the last couple days and not a single discovery. Tomorrow I’m logging straight into the game after my morning coffee and Blog Azeroth chat, and doing two rounds of dailies. I’ll probably go back to questing on Jess since there’s no room in her quest log to get the dailies done efficiently. My goal is to have at least the skill by the end of the weekend. I also can use Hubby’s miner, since he’s not home.
For now, it’s bed time. The dog keeps nudging me and walking back to the bedroom, so either Timmy fell in the well, or she’s ready to go to bed.

Ok, so Fim is on vacation, and SOMEONE had to have a kara pun title, so I’ll apologize for my lame attempt now, and we’ll move on. And yes, I realize it was a druid pun, not a kara pun but…we’re moving on now!
Jess had an awesome night. Now, I always have a blast in Kara. I’m among the oddballs that still love the place. It was waning for a while, but with Jess being 70, and healing in there, it’s been rejuvenating. My BEST memories of this game have been in Kara, with my old guild as well as my new one. I still miss those guys though, I need to hop over and say hi soon. Anyhow, back to tonight. I sat out last night, we only run with two healers and I lost the coin toss..lol. But I signed up for tonight, just in case I was needed and I got an invite! I said my prayers to the loot gods and took the summon. First up, a friendly game of chess, we of course won. No leather boot love, but I’ll keep trying. I REALLY want those boots. Leather healing boots with two blue sockets make me drool. Onwards and upwards we go, to Prince.
Prince insists on doing something buggy every time we try him. It’s like he says hey it’s Mythos again! What freaky thing can I do tonight? I know! I’ll two shot the tank. Poor Foose. We got him on attempt…2 or 3? I can’t remember. But he went down so hard his head was through the wall. There was some discussion that his head actually was severed and fell down the ravine, they don’t call that weapon the The Decapitator for nothing. This is where my dice decided 79 was my lucky number. the tier 4 token drops…I roll 79, and win. of course I could have won with a 1, since everyone passed. Then Light’s Justice appears! I rolled…79. And I won again! Ok, by default, everyone passed, but double 79’s!! And now I have my antlers!! I popped a +26 healing meta gem in there, and a +18 healing ruby, just need that glyph.
On to Netherspite (AKA: The Beam Dragon, for those like me that mix up our Kara dragons), we kill him, and decide he should not skin into knothide leather scraps! then move on to Nightbane (AKA: That $%&*#@ Dragon). I believe we had 3 attempts on him before we killed him. And he decides HE loves the healers. Stonebough Jerkin drops, as well as Nightstaff of the Everliving. I have the windhawk piece, so I was prepared to pass. But was convinced to roll, due to the fact that it rarely drops (they don’t recall ever seeing it), and it would be great for when I break up Windhawk. So I rolled. Not a 79! But I was the only one, so it’s mine. Which means, if I replace my bracers and belt, I can drop leatherworking and get Herbalism in the future. Woot! The nightstaff was rolled on for vendor to pad the repair bills.
As of now, unbuffed I’m at 1528 bonus healing, and 511 spirit. I have enough badges for an idol, but I think I’ll save for my pants, and hope one drops. I’m not going to farm slabs for the lifebloom one, but if I get it great, if I don’t, my rejuv one is fine.
Tomorrow we try Gruul again. This weekend I’ll probably try to get some heroics in, maybe even Shattered Halls. Definitely need to run Black Morass again, so I can have my own key to Kara. Squeeee!! I love my druid!

Yesterday was quite the day let me tell you. I woke up, shuffled my groggy butt to the kitchen. I cleaned the coffee pot, got everything ready, grabbed that beautiful blue can and…it was EMPTY! No coffee for me! Not a good way to start the day. But I had faith. Hubby would know we were out, since he finished it, he’d come home at lunch with some. Lunch never happened. I figure, OK, after work, no problem. By 5pm I had dinner cooked, kitchen cleaned, yard cleaned, dogs fed, I even got my 14 year old to clean her room. No hubby. I had a raid starting at 6pm. So I logged into WoW to get ready. That’s when I realized my smokes were running dangerously low. Come on hunny, get home!!!
So, I’m being careful, I’m conserving, I’m raiding, I’m healing as fast as my druid’s little branches can shake. She’s a tree by the way, there’s just no way to make that make sense to my LJ readers, so…tree, with face, that walks, dances, and…heals the other players. By 8pm, still no hubby, this sucks. We finish up around 10pm, and STILL no hubby. Now I’m flashing back to my first month at Ft Wainwright, Alaska when he was doing land navigation, and called and said he’d be a little late…and was gone for three friggin days. So, I log off WoW and get to work on my website. Which isn’t easy when you’re shaking like a tree full of leaves in an earthquake. 11pm, midnight, blog header is done, 1am, site is done. Finally I hear the dogs start hollering at the kitchen! 1:45am he finally got home. By this time I’d stolen a pack of HIS smokes. Which I noticed he stole back this morning when he brought mine. This week can’t end soon enough his work days have been really screwy.
Anyhow, back to WoW. When I first moved servers, and joined my current guild, some of you might remember I killed a tank. Totally by accident I swear! Never put a priest on follow without telling them…important lesson. well, same place, different toon, We were waiting just inside the back door of Kara. Ready to head to the Curator. Me, the warrior, and the other resto druid. A ghost suddenly realizes we are there, the other druid escapes, the warrior and I die. Suddenly I hear over ventrilo “Synthessia? did you throw ANOTHER tank off the bridge up there?” /blush. at least this time I was innocent. Tonight we finish that run, hopefully I get a shiney new hat. And hopefully hubby is home at a semi normal time, but at least I have coffee.
