I am adding a new word to the language. Also, because I’m that nice, I’m including the definition.

Suckituptitude- ability to deal with all manner of jackassery, tomfoolery, bullshit and hassle without whining to the command that you need your husband home immediately. Can be handled with or without whining, but preferably with wine.

This came about because, as usual…he is gone and something has gone wrong. The dog seems to have some tummy trouble. It is of course FRIDAY. Which means no vets are open until Monday. Except the ones that require payment body parts and a co signer to walk in the door. All of these vets are…off post. I have never driven out there. Nope, not in four years. Oh wait, once, to get my car home, but I was following him. Anyhow, in the course of telling him he should be able to just come home…it went something like this

Me: Shadow’s sick, the Vets are all closed, I can’t drive off post, you need to come home. This sucks.
Hunny: I know
Me: It’s freaking me out
Hunny: I know
Me: Come homeeeee
Hunny: I caaaan’t
Me: Not even if I whine?
Hunny: Think a doc would sign a red cross message for excessive whining?
Me: Hell I’ve seen it work for spouses that don’t have NEAR my level of suckituptitude.

Of Owning Frogs

I ralized I didn’t show the whole froggy setup last time. And since it’s monday, I have nothing else to say. So Here we go.

They really hate leaving the plants alone. I replant them, they uproot them. I have given up on it.

I changed the water on Saturday. A fairly simple procedure. drain 3/4 of it out with a baster, and refill with spring water. I had no choice since they decided to do what boy and girl frogs do, and leave little eggs all over it, also the male had decided it was time to shed his skin, and there was icky floating around. It should be good for six months now. I just need a very small skimmer net.

They are quite fun to watch, and listen to. They’ve started singing to me in the evenings. And sometimes, they’re even photogenic.

They still need names. We definitely have male and female.

Birthday Project

I guess turning 35 is a milestone somehow. I always swore I had no problem with aging, but for some reason this particular number is annoying me. I’m sure it will pass. No, I’m not writhing on the floor in a fetal position desperately clutching my youth and mumbling about anti aging creams.Â But I am starting a blog project.Â Thanks to Niki. It’s called Project 365. Starting today, I’m posting one photo per day. My thinking is one, it will get me back to blogging more, and two, dust off my photo skills. The first picture is today. Then I need to set up a Flickr account or something to store them all in order.

Todays lucky subject is the always photogenic, more cooperative than the kids, and adorableâ€¦Daisy! Daisy just had a birthday too. On Janary 15, she turned 6!
