o, he’s been home for almost two weeks. Sometimes I still can’t believe he’s here. Everything is pretty much back to normal. It never takes us more than a few hours to get back to being us. The army dentists decided two of his wisdom teeth needed pulled last Thursday. They gave him 2 hours notice. That was fun. He also came home with some mystery funk on his elbow. So instead of being at the redeployment ceremony right now, I’m waiting for the call from Dermatology to set his appointment, since the regular clinic couldn’t figure it out. One guess was Leishmaniasis (say that three times fast), which is a condition that results from flea bites in certain countries. Afghanistan is one of them. And you think good ol’ American flea bites suck..ick. Hopefully he finds out soon and gets it cleared up. It doesn’t hurt or itch, it’s just…there.
Anyhow. That Time Again. Tonight is the homecoming ball. So, while I’m not at the ceremony, I’m getting ready for that. That’s right, once again, I am getting all dressed up in a formal gown, full makeup, hair done (I hope). I even polished my toenails. The camera is in my purse, we just need to shower and get dressed. After he picks up our clothes from the cleaner, and I annihilate the dog hair.
The dress (taken with crappy cell phone camera, forgive me…lol) I found last weekend at JC Penney’s. Unfortunately it suffered some wrinkling on the rack.
Shoes and purse…
I actually got two dresses, since they were on sale. Ended up spending less than I planned originally for one. the other is a black version of the red, with white trim at the top. I’ve learned it never hurts to have spare formals in the closet. You really never know when a formal event will pop up, and if it’s not during prom or homecoming season pickins can be pretty slim unless you spend extra money at specialty stores.
So, tonight, my job is “Arm Candy”. A nice break from the last year where my job has been EVERYTHING.
