I should be working on a drawing. It’s due tonight. But I hate that class therefor I am procrastinating. It’s my “Introduction to Drawing” class. Which hasn’t been much of an intro. There was no basic technique, just “draw this” and then grades based on use of line and shading (shading also wasn’t gone over for anything but ink.), and whole bunch of other things. Letter grades mind you. And there was no leeway, even though the professor knew most of us had no experience. I was even more shocked when we got to drawing people, and had no example video given. We had an example video (three in fact) for drawing flowers! I went to Barnes&Noble to find a book I could use just to pass that part. I ended up with a bunch, and the decision that I’d get through the semester and then learn my own way in my own time. It really should be a pass/fail course. You put in obvious effort you pass you draw stick figures you fail. Anyhoooo…

I went back to Azeroth last night. I’d been getting frustrated with Dragon Age 2 (love it by the way, but can’t post without SPOIKERING all of you and having rotten apples thrown at me) being buggy so I played WoW…on PATCH DAY! And I started the new STV quest chain, because there was a pet involved. And I realized in the process…I suck at boomkin. I’m half dead before a SINGLY normal 85 mob is 1/4 dead. Now I understand most people are in heroic and raid gear at this point but it’s normal 85 mobs. So beaten up, abused, and run ragged by the sudden collection of NPC’s I had following me. I mean there was Bwemba the Troll spirit, then this Dwarf starts following me around. Why me? I mean have you ever had to deal with a drunken dwarf hitting on the ghost of a female troll? They don’t take rejection well, I’ll tell you that. It was ugly.

Then, THEN I get killed by the cute. I meet my future kitten.

I didn’t finish the chain. I got tired of having my fluffy Boomkin feathers handed to me in clumps. So I quit, and logged my hunter. My hunter who was Squeeing with joy when ALL her pets (The BIG pets not mini pets, different kind of collector she is.) jumped to Level 85. Even Cowbelle the Pink Tallstrider!! She got invited to run a couple normal dungeons. Awesome sauce, because she can’t do heroics yet. Her gear is on the just hit 85 end. One was I forget the name, but the second was Vortex Pinnacle and I was expecting a place like that horrible one in Northrend. But no, it was quite fun. And Pretty…

And I only died twice across two dungeons. Once because someone forgot to change it to normal (and may or may not have actually been healing the tank…). I’m not mentioning any names here. But hilarity ensued I can tell you THAT. And the second time because I missed the thingy I had to go stand in to not get murdered by lightning. My Bad. But Hey, I trapped! mostly successfully even! I had a trap vanish when I got out of range, but I did manage to get my pet on it until my cooldown came up and trap it after all. Really loving my hunter. I sure wish I loved my druid that much. She’s reduced to archaeology and pet collecting still.

Maybe I should try feral offspec. Oh wait, I have a rogue and she can pickpocket…

Pandaren Monk and Lil K.T. Pets Go!

I have been waiting FOREVER to hear news about the Pandaren Monk pet that was datamined a while back. Today, it went LIVE! And so did Lil K.T. And the awesome thing about it is, you can go to the blizzard store and buy them for $10 each! No farming, no grinding, no rare drops or rare spawns are difficult achievements. Just $10 of your money. to top it off, 50% of the proceeds from the Pandaren Monk, through December 31, 2009 will go to Make-A-Wish foundation. Woot! I got myself one of each! They are bind on account, so you have them for all characters past and present. However if you have 2 accounts or more under your Battlenet account, you must buy one for each account.

I mentioned a few posts ago that I’m a dual specced Boomkin these days. I’m enjoying it much more than I thought I would actually. But what really makes me happy is this talent in my solo spec called Owlkin Frenzy. The first time I saw it proc, and heard the sound effect I cracked up. Nothing like a big fluffy bird beast RAWRSMASHING a mob over the head with glowing orange wing tips! And omg the sound! I hereby rename that talent /JESSRAGE!!

When was the last time I updated this thing? Aside from the podcast plug. Dear Elune, look at these cobwebs. And The dust is out of control. It’s not that I haven’t been playing. I’ve been playing ALOT actually. So, I’m just gonna update with a list. Yep, I’m bullet pointing!

Jessmyn has gotten all my play time.
She has gained exalted reputation with all the alliance cities, earning her "Ambassador" title.
She is also now exalted with Argent Crusade, AND Silver Covenant.
She still hates jousting.
She is up to 93 pets!
With all that rep, she even ended up with 25 mounts.

She’s also learned a hard lesson. You see when she went to Boomkin spec, she thought woot! Aoe! Those 10 converted heroes would be easy mode right?? So she runs in with starfall raining down, typhooon doin it’s thing, then hurricane…for about a second when she died. Yeah I was "that guy"…err girl. One must learn to control the force that is Boomkin AoE.

1. HoT yourself up!

2. run toward group, activate starfall.

3. pull out the Treants!

4. Typhoon (Unglyphed of course)

5. BARKSKIN!

6. Hurricane!

7. Profit.

They just released the trailer for Cataclysm on the net stream for blizzcon. New races confirmed, level cap confirmed at 85, SOME of the MMO-C stuff was confirmed but not all. I still have 15 minutes of denial left. Dwarf Shamans? hmm maybe thats ok. Troll Druids?? no. No. JUST NO!!! No race should have BOTH druids and Shammies. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I’m Jess, I don’t NEED to be rational, so there!

That’s Jessmyn. Beside her is her freshly hatched Deviate Hatchling! (thank you Twice!) I say he is PINK. But certain Tree druids insist he is purple. Now…I understand maybe the blue stripes on his back may blend with the pink and be confusing but…I show you evidence. See Jess’ hair? THAT is purple. My baby is clearly not THAT color. He is pink!!

Ya know, when Azeroth seems intent on kicking your ass, and the idiots are flooding trade chat, instances aren’t working, the Sea of QQ tears is rising, just remember, there still some great people that play this game. And if you’re really lucky…you call them guildies.

I can’t wait to be able to play again. I miss the fun, and randomness of my guild. I miss everything. But my stupid computer is locking up when I tab out, and if I can’t tab out I can’t get to my instant messenger. And even tho chances are low that Hubby will get to a computer right now, it’s still a risk I can’t afford. BUT! Friday, I’ll have my little dell mini, and be able to log back in to PLAY!!!

It’s Monday. It’s been almost a week since the patch, and the milion and tenth lifebloom nerf that came with it. no, I’m not going to /Jessrage over it anymore. I quit. I’m letting it go. I mean after all, we do have these spiffy new skins for bear right?

Hey what’s that on my neck?? OMG! That’s why they are trying to kill trees!! Bear Jewelry!

That’s all that is left of my tree form. Ya know, it’s been a long week for me. I haven’t talked to my husband in 10 days, I just found out that I won’t get to talk to him for another month. But you know what?? It’s a new week. It’s time to pull myself up by the bootstraps in the virtual part of my life. So, I did the only thing I could do.

Quick Yay!

Thanks to a Retro raid of Zul’Aman last night, I got my “Unicorn”. Everyone has that thing they really want, but just never seemed to be able to get ahold of. For me, it was Mojo. You had to know it would be a pet!

Things didn’t start off well. Only 3 of us were rolling on the hex sticks. By the time we’d gotten to like the 3rd boss, I’d won ONE out of the multiple drops. Typical Jess dice at work. But, never fear, Twailight was here and gave me 2 more. The group went to turn in quests, I stayed inside, having completed the quests during BC. Then a very sad thing happened. The other two lost their Hex Sticks by leaving the instance…BAD design there Blizz!! Seriously! Well, there were three of us. I had Three sticks. So, I gave each of them one of mine, so we’d all have at least 1 chance. No luck.

We moved on and cleared up to the Moroes like boss, and another stick dropped. I won the roll shockingly enough. Killed that boss, more quests got turned in, and I went to use my stick.

And who should jump right into my pocket???

I shall hug him, and love him, and he shall be my squishy! I’ve only seen the lil guy one other time. When a real life friend used his Hex stick, and mojo jumped in someone ELSE’S pocket! I’m so happy!

And PS: Apologies f you stopped by earlier and couldn’t get to the site. Deamhost activated my private server and something got screwed up in the transfer. I had to reinstall, load a database from backup, pray to the internet Gods while hopping on one foot and blowing bubbles into the northern wind while Saturn was aligned with the 3rd moon of pluto to get it back.
