This is Flame. Jesslyn crossed hell and high water to tame her yesterday. She dropped of her faithful boar at the stables, and started the long walk from Loch Modan to The Ghostlands. We got through to Southshore with relatively few deaths. But made a mistake by trying to go through Alterac. And even bigger mistake was spirit rezzing there. That little adventure added an hour to the trip just trying to corpse hop my way back to the road. Anyhow, we got through WPL no problem, grabbed the flight point and swam the river to the EPL border. The first death was right inside EPL. But that sent us to the Darrowshire graveyard, allowing me to rez there and avoid Coring Crossing. I made a bit more progress before dying again. Another fortuitous event, as I ended up at Blackwind Lake. From there, it was a matter of corpse hopping through the bit of woods to meet the road nearest my exit point. So, a few more deaths ensued but I got to the road. I only died one more time after making the turn to the portal.

After entering into Ghostlands, I decided to suck it up and run right through the hordeling town. The NPC’s hit me, but they were easily ignored. Twice however the Silvermoon guards got the urge to attack. They get so uppity about a little dwarf in their zone. After that it was a matter of tracking beast until a Springpaw Stalker appeared. I tamed her, and hearthed back.

I thought my challenge was over. But today, a certain hunter (I’m lookin at you Kae) challenged me to find out if my cat was truly a girl, before I gave her a girly name. I couldn’t resist, so off to the undead infested ships in Menethil Harbor I went. It took several deaths at the fins of Murlocs, but I got to the second ship. For the 1 second my little cat survived after the curse, she was indeed a girl. I then named her Flame, and thanked all that is holy that I had tamed a known female pig the first time!

Thanks to the buff to pet leveling, Flame hit lvl 13 in less than an hour, she was lvl 7 when I tamed her. I just need to get the pretty girl some skills.

Jesslyn, my little baby test hunter is really a joy to play. I wish I’d have leveled a dwarf from the start. She’s just so cute and good with a gun. WE have made it to lvl 10. We have tamed our first pet. After a trip to Petopia I decided on Princess (click pic to enlarge). The pig in Elwynn Forest. First stop was to tame a boar that knew gore. Took care of that on the way.

I knew Princess was going to be tough. She has 1 to 2 friends with her. But I have no traps. So, I just took a deep breath, hit tame at max range and prayed. The tame went off, she attacked her former friends, and I died. It was all good though. I haven’t died much, even without a pet. Learning to strafe/kite has been more fun than I thought. I can even do it in circles now. I never learned this on Tera, and at 70, I tend to not bother trying because I don’t NEED to. But for 10 levels on Jesslyn I’ve had to.

My no help plan had one serious flaw. Bags. But, a kind guildie gifted me with 3 of the 12 slot kind, and lil bit of starter funding. One doesn’t look a gift warlock in the mouth. One says thank you and graciously accepts a gift when it’s offered.

Guildies you ask? Well I happened to meet a friend over there. I tried to steal his pet but…I just couldn’t. I did however snatch a screeshot…which seems to have disappeared from my folder. But BRK found me, and made the effort to come say hello! I was very happy to see a friendly face, and even happier to meet more of them.

I have also started making some coin in the AH, if I’m very careful and smart, when she hits 40 she’ll get her mount, and training and be able to have some left over. IF I’m careful and smart. That’s a big IF. But I’m going to try and do just that.
