Having finally figured out a way to get photoshop and my tablet to behave like pencil and paper, I’ve become less frustrated. As such, I’ve been toying with it this morning. Now, I’m not going for realism, nor am I planning to be the next *insert awesome artist here*. I’m simply trying to find my own style, and make myself happy.
Current progress:

and an Alistair doodle (Dragon Age again, I know)
I’m rather happy.
The picture popped into my head a couple days ago. But unfortunately between my jaw acting up and the resulting migraine, i couldn’t do much about it. Then again, once the migraine subsided, I still couldn’t do much…lol
But, it’s a start. I’m still figuring out which pencils do what, and my shading needs alot of work. But at least the learning is fun.

I was watching “Losing It With Jillian” last night. I don’t know why really, but it was pretty good. She said something that actually clicked for me.

So, I’m not going to try to learn to draw. I am GOING to learn to draw. And…I have Stuff to do it with!
In the box: Light box, for transfer of sketch to finl product, also for those times I want to examine my photo prints closely. Or even trace one.
Pencils of varying density, charcoals, blending stick, and kneaded eraser.
Colored pencils, 132 colors! (The baggy in the top image is actually colorless blending pencils to go with these)
And of course, instructional book, and paper!
Now, as soon as this living room is dog hair and dust free, and I have some quiet alone time…I can get started!
But not my work. Another commission piece from PayRoo over at DeviantART. This time, my dwarf noble, Lady Aidan Aedeucan, with her love interest Zevran Arainai. Sure he was hired originally to kill her. But love conquers all right?
