Wow! Two friggin weeks since I blogged last? How did that even happen? It’s not like I’m insanely busy. Well, Insanely…something maybe. Well now is as good a time to ramble as any, since I won’t be sleeping for a while. I’ll explain that in a bit. Right after we catch up on all the exciting news in my life.amative

Hubby first. Hmm, well I don’t really want to Jinx him, which is what usually happens when I get to bragging  about something. So, Let’s just say he did something brave and awesome last summer when he and his squad were ambushed,  and is getting an award for it. When he has it in his hands, I’ll name it publicly.

strive Myself, nothing exciting. My dog chewed the crap out of my Blizzard authenticator. Unfortunately, even though I can get a new one, the old one is still bound to my account until I remember the secret answer to my secret question. Which I do not. Oh when I created it, I’m sure I was confident that I, and only I could ever answer it. But apparently I’m too tricky even for myself. A nice Blizz rep even gave me a hint and I still can’t work it out.  Yes, I wrote it down, no I cannot find the paper. It seems I have a couple choices here, keep trying, or start a new account and level all over again. I guess if I don’t remember by the time Cataclysm releases, I’ll do that, and level myself a Worgen. I miss my guildies Though :sad:

Life in general, is pretty dull. We found out the guys aren’t getting home any earlier than planned. Well, let me put that another way. SOME are. OURS aren’t. That sucks. This means less time for us to catch up and relax together before he goes off to school for three months. Yet again we get slapped with the stress stick. Come home, go off to school, return, and pcs (move) at lightning speed with no time to breathe. I just keep telling myself that I do love the life it has given us, it’s all worth it. But still I occasionally want to kick the Army in both shins while wearing steel toed boots.

Of spiders. So, tonight, I’m here blogging. Because, there was a very large spider on the ceiling directly over my FACE. This is when it really gets to me. I’m alone, and there’s noone here to kill the monsters for me. cry No, don’t laugh. It’s not even remotely funny to be arachnophobic.  Yes, I managed to get a broom, kill the sucker, get it gathered up and flushed down the toilet. That’s how bad it is by the way, unless I see it leave the room, the house, the universe, whatever, I’m convinced it’s not really dead. It can’t just be killed and left laying somewhere. I stripped the entire bed to find it, and get the body flushed. I’m now nauseous, sweating and shaking. I’ll either sleep on the couch, or lie tossing and turning tonight in bed because of it.

Yes, I know the ones in Georgia are alot worse. It terrifies me. I have seriously considered Mosquiton netting for our bed just to sleep peacefully at night there. I kid you not.

I want my hubby back. Now.

    I don’t know if you’ve tried this or not, but Blizzard has a way to retrieve/recover your secret question and answer via e-mail web form if necessary. It will require some work on your part, and you need to have access to the Authentication Key (*NOT* Authenticator key, but Authentication Key: it’s the long “CD key”-like code that you used to create your WoW account way back when). To get to the web form you can just go to https://us.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml?locale=en_US — but I’ll understand if you’re hesitant to blindly follow the links someone gives you on the internet, so here’s an alternate way to get there yourself:

    1)Go to the official World of Warcraft homepage, expand the Support category of the left-hand menu, and select “Billing and Account”.
    2)Look for “Contact & License Information” and click it. The box of articles on the right should change, and the first option should now say “Contacting Billing and Account Services”. Click that option.
    3)In the article that opens up look for the Email Support section, and find the “Web Form” link.

    Once you’re at the web form, choose the following options:
    Select a product => Battle.net Account
    Select a category => Forgotten Account Data
    Select the type of account data => Secret Question and Answer Retrieval

    Fill out your e-mail address (and verify it), your name, and your B.net account if different from the e-mail address you entered earlier. For the “Select your verification method” dropbox, choose “Last 5 digits of your authentication key” and enter them into the appropriate field.

    You will also have to print out a copy of the ToU form (a link is provided by the webform, but you can also find it at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&tag=BNETTOUFORM&rhtml=true ) and fill it out as appropriate. Make sure you sign it, and then scan it back into your computer into jpg, gif, or bmp format. Don’t worry if it ends up as two pages/images/files, as the webform gives you two upload slots for just that reason. After it’s scanned double check the file sizes to make sure they’re under 5 MB, then upload them to the webform you’ve been filling out.

    Now, the ToU form asks for you to send in copies of one or more of various forms of IDs, but I’m not sure how that works in regards to the web form process. You might want to ask that question in the Description box of the web form, as I think you may need to fax or snail mail in notarized copies of the ID(s) in question, but I’m not 100% sure on that. Also, be sure to make it clear that it’s the *ANSWER* to the secret question that you can’t remember, as the ToU form only lists “Secret Question Retrieval”.

    Yes, it will take a while to get everything cleared up, but it’s much better than starting over again. Also, you can probably just ask a Billing representative over the phone if you can use the ToU form and ID verification to remove the authenticator and recover the answer to your secret question all at once, but it doesn’t hurt to know the whole process in case something goes wrong again.

    Good luck!
