After months of being distracted, the dog eating my authenticator, and general craziness…I’ve returned to WoW. With new mains in each guild. And thus, my decisions for Cataclysm have been made. Yes, I’m buying it, and I know who I’m playing.
In The Purge, my only remaining active hybrid class. Jessrayje, shadow priest of DOOM.
In Parallel, my favorite pure dps class. Seenah the Rogue, A.K.A. Badass Barbie.
Retiring to pasture/bank/professions only status will be my druid, hunter, and pally.
It wasn’t something I planned. I knew with the druid changes, my Druid was done. If I’d wanted to be able to cast offensive spells, I’d play a mage, warlock or, well, shadow priest. If I’d wanted to be in caster form as a healer, I’d play a Shaman, or…again, priest. Call me silly, call me irrational, but that is just how I feel. I hate that resto is the only druid that won’t have a perma-form. But, rather than gripe about it, I’ll just play something else.
My rogue has recently reminded me just how much fun she is. The sneaking, the stealing, the stabbing, it’s just such FUN to play. I enjoyed my hunter, but I never really found myself giggling while I was playing her. Upon my return, and subsequent gathering of gold and shaking the rust off, my husband was treated to random fits of “he-heeee” while I played. THAT is what I want from the game. THAT is what I get with Seenah.
So tonight, she entered Ice Crown Citadel. My first raid with her since…I can’t even remember when. She’d done a Naxx run here and there, apparently I did Sarth at least once. FUN! I had actual ZOMGFUN this evening. The guildies I met in Sidhe Devils are the guildies I’m with in Parallel, and it’s like coming HOME after a long time away. I’m not sure what spec she’s staying with, and I don’t care I love them both. She’s undergeared and way behind, but…she’s fun. They’re fun. The Purge is FUN, and I have two new mains!

You put into words my exact feelings about healing with druid
With no tree form, I won’t be healing with her. For the exact reasons you give too. I have a shadowpriest and a mage. Druid IS form. But ah well. I’m so glad to hear how much you love your rogue. My first toon was a rogue, before I ever raided, or knew what dps really was, and I struggle so much to enjoy her now due to the dpse expectations, except when I’m stealing a flower or an ore node from someone.
