*this is a rant, it’s mostly frustration with myself, and a little with some incoming change.*

Ever have just too much. Not too much dinner, or too much work, just too much in general. That’s where I’m at right now. Blizz wants to double the lifebloom cost, essentially changing the base of a druid’s healing rotation. I checked it out on the PTR and with my rolling lifebloom on one target, and keeping regrowth and rejuv up, I was OOM in 1 minute 44 seconds. This was with only a 38mp5 flask, and my GotW. The target was me. I was angry, upset, ranting, and baically being very unhappy. Then it hit me. Screw it.

I like how we heal now, I don’t want to learn all over again. If this goes live, unchanged. I have full dps gear, and can always respec to Boomkin. What’s it matter really? And no, not dual spec, just plain out respec. Because…it doesn’t MATTER what spec I am as of this friday. It doesn’t matter at all. My husband is coming home, from a month away at training. Am I going to be PLAYING?? only if he is

A: Not home
B: Playing his toons

What about after the “woohoo he’s home” wears off? Not gonna happen. We have a trip planned in early April and a million things to do to prepare for that, and a couple months later he is going away. FOR A YEAR. I have found I have a couple kidney stones I need taken care of and can’t get an appointment, and have to pray they get taken care of before he’s gone, And I’m sitting here worried about a stupid lifebloom nerf? Fuck that! (Yeah, I swore) I m going to be spending that time making the absolute most out of the time I have with my husband, and dealing with this ever growing snowball rolling at me at high speed.

Bottom line, I hate that they’re nerfing druid healing by doubling the mana cost of a bread and butter spell, “encouraging” (read: forcing) them to heal in new and different ways. And I feel very badly for my fellow trees who it DOES matter to. But in reality. It doesn’t effect me. Not really. I’m not going to be raiding that much, if at all. Not for a very long time. I’ll be back to what I know best. Working towards collecting as many pets as humanly possible, socializing, and doing dailies. Maybe even level my two neglected alts. When I can log in.

    I hear ya! I think I need that made into a real-life macro… is that possible? ;)

It’s not jsut you Druids, I play a SV (since before 2.5!) hunter and a Disc priest and the playstyles of those have drastically changed in the last few patches, with even more alterations in 3.1. It’s not almsot the same game, and I am saddened by that.

Go spend time with the hubby, and best of luck on your kidneys!
Real life > WoW. May yours be blessed and become more drama-free.

I hear ya on druid healing. I myself respec’d my feral druid to resto to help out now and again and Lifebloom is key. When I saw this change released in the 3.1 PTR notes I started ranting about it to my wife saying if they hate Lifebloom so much why not just remove it? It’s not our fault it’s a good spell and it’s not like rolling lifebloom by itself is going to keep anyone tanking or taking severe damage out of harms way. It’s just a good baseline on your healing process. Trees heal differently, don’t hurt them for it. Jeez.

But you’re right, what is that in comparison to spending as much time with your husband as possible and taking care of things in real life? It’s nothing. Ultimately, WoW will be there and things will get ironed out by the people whose jobs it supports, but real life… Yeah, that’s up to you. :)

Well said, thank you:) It used to be different = good, but it seems to be turning into different = TOO good = MUST nerf…lol

Don’t know if you remember me, but I still silently stalk around seeing how you and Art are doing. I see Jaq has done a good job of reforming almost all the oldies back together, made me happy to see that. Tell Art best of luck out there and be safe. Beyond the politics there are still people back home that support you and wish you guys luck :)

I feel I understand. My girlfriend is home for about 18 weeks this year, and every moment I get with her is better than anything else. WoW be damned when she is around. When she’s away I’ll play though, the distraction is good.

I’m in one of those RL > WoW situations myself at present as I’ve got a 7-month old who is crawling, crawling and then crawling some more. I can’t really quest or anything involved, and groups / raids are right out the door unless she’s asleep (wife and I raid w/ th Aussies from 2am-6am now, lol. Baby is always sleeping then!)

As to Druids – I played a Druid main for most of BC. I still made him my first 80. Since then? It’s just not the same, and playstyle / itemization / viability changes drastically every patch. I’m not enjoying my Druid like I used to, to put it bluntly – and it’s a shame, but it is what it Blizz. :P So, I started playing the Shaman more and more… at least I can still enjoy that, until they realize Chain Heal is OP….

Thats a nice workaround! We play on an Oceanic server, but raid times are around 5pm local for us, but only Fri and sat. So not bad really. My druid will always be my favorite, as long as they don’t beat them into pre-bc days.

I hope that you are able to get every drop of goodness out of your time with your husband before he has to go away, and that your medical issues resolve with as little pain or effort as possible.
As for me, I’m hoping that the testing of the lifebloom nerf on the ptr will help them to adjust it to a reasonable level. If not, there’s always Donkey Kong =P

Ow!! Kidney stones are no fun, had many over the years, always brutal. I hope you can just pass them and not have to have a surgery to remove it. I was told by a nurse who had them as well that they are the equivalent of having child birth and being a man that’s not enjoyable in anyway. I hope the best for ya :)
