Ya know, when Azeroth seems intent on kicking your ass, and the idiots are flooding trade chat, instances aren’t working, the Sea of QQ tears is rising, just remember, there still some great people that play this game. And if you’re really lucky…you call them guildies.

I can’t wait to be able to play again. I miss the fun, and randomness of my guild. I miss everything. But my stupid computer is locking up when I tab out, and if I can’t tab out I can’t get to my instant messenger. And even tho chances are low that Hubby will get to a computer right now, it’s still a risk I can’t afford. BUT! Friday, I’ll have my little dell mini, and be able to log back in to PLAY!!!
Play in Windowed mode then you can see if someone messages you and also when people log in
I’m with Sephrenia – windowed mode will take a little getting used to, but it means you can keep an eye on your IMs at all times, without your computer going mental!
You can play windowed but still “stretch” the window to be almost full screen, too. So you won’t be playing in a tiny window… it’ll still be almost the same, but it will mean you can access other programs quickly and without your computer locking up.

But yes, windowed mode is definitely the way to go. Then you can multitask like a crazy woman!

As a few others have already said, go with windowed mode.
I had this same problem as soon as the patch dropped. I ended up using Windowed mode and under I also checked full screen (I think, or something very like it). Anyhow, I checked both of them and I still get full screen Wow, just without the tabbing out lockups.
The only difference for me is that I ended up having to alt-tab out when before I would just hit my windows key.
Added bonus is that it doesn’t cost you a new vidoeo card come payday.
