If you use Wine/Linux and/or a g15 keyboard, you might want to read This Post. (It’s eerily similar to an article I read a while back when I first started playing WoW.) I know alot of you read BRK, and other WoW bloggers from the Aetherial Circle guild on Drenden, this was one of their guildies that got caught up in a mass ban, and seemingly has no recourse, but to email and wait. While I’m glad Blizz is proactive about bots, there has GOT to be a way to discern between someone using an unusual set up on an operating system and someone botting gold and wrecking the economy. Having a toon in AC, the guy this happened to is someone I met. Someone who made me feel like I’d been in the guild for a year not just a day, even though I rarely log into her, I won’t forget his sending me to Menethil boat wrecks, to verify my pet was a female at level 10:P. This makes me sad:(
Both G15 and Wine/Linux has been explicitly approved by Blizzard. As long as you don’t use those to automate your play, you can use those.
