Wrath is here woot!! And none of my toons have dinged yet. In fact, that’s what has lead me to this post. This is my self reminder, my “note to self” list of advice that I have often told myself, but never followed. I’ve been playing for almost two years now. Yet, I’ve never “played”. Not in the sense of the word that involves light hearted fun.
I allowed myself to be pressured into getting my priest to 70 ASAP to heal. I rush leveled my hunter to support my priest. I stressed myself out leveling my druid to catch up as my main. My rogue so far is the only one that I’ve managed to squeeze a little fun in with while leveling. Ok, so I enjoy pick pocketing. Sue me.
This leads me to my list…
- PLAY! Don’t worry about 80, don’t worry about how fast I get there.
- ENJOY the content, which by the way so far is amazing.
- Stop and smell the roses. Take time out from leveling to do the silliest of achievements.
- Take part in the holiday events on all of my toons. Even at the expense of a day of XP.
- Accept that real life (mainly dinner time) can’t be shuffled around to accomodate anyone but your family.
- Dinner on weekends is ok to shuffle
- If Hubby isn’t home by 5, no raiding.
- Exceptions can be made for times he’s in the field or otherwise seperated from us.
- When I am not having fun, either find something more fun, or log out.
So, now we’re down to rules for each toon.
Hunter (70, Beast Master)
She is my “me” toon. I love to play her. Solo. I don’t like to play her in dungeons much, but will on occasion. Focus on solo play, group quests, and supporting the healer main.
Druid (70, Balance)
She is my main. She is leveling Boomkin, but will go back to Resto at 80. When I’m not in the mood to play her, I won’t. Otherwise, I end up resenting her and get cranky.
Rogue (68 Subtlety)
Pure unadulterated fun. I would like to not only solo and do group quests, but get her into the dungeons.
Priest (70, Currently Discipline)
No plans on leveling her. My heart just isn’t in it. If I do, it will be shadow, and only for her enchanting (rather, Disenchanting) skill and bag making. She’ll definitely be last.
Death Knight (TBA)
Well, I know for a fact I do not want to go through outlands ever again. But I don’t want to miss out on the start zone. So, I’ll roll one, get it through the starter zone, and probably park in Stormwind. Maybe poke around a bit on her when I’m bored. If I do roll one, I’ll probably leave it unguilded. No point having a toon guilded that likely won’t see play time.
Now, I can refer back to this post whenever I start feeling overwhelmed or frazzled. And if any of the advice sounds good to you, hey, glad I could help.

Is a good plan… if you’re not having fun at some point … log out….no sense stressing out…..
