I’ve decided to test a few things. And to do that, I needed a test subject. So, I created one. What am I testing you ask? Ok, you didn’t but I’m going to tell you anyway.
- Can I achieve gold, gear, bags, etc on my own without help? I know it’s possible. But I have yet to do it myself. Jess had help with gear, crafting, etc the whole way up as RL friends passed down gear and mats they didn’t need any longer. The same with my Druid. My other alts have all been supported by Jessmyn and now Teranna.
- Can I solo a hunter to level 10, without resorting to a BRK Hunter Horror example? (and yes he can catch me…) When BRK started his lowbie hunter guides, I was wishing they’d been around for my first 10 levels on Teranna. But it made me curious. Can I do it? And by doing it, will it help me learn to strafe and kite better on Teranna? We shall see.
- Can I level a Dwarf? I have never rolled a dwarf. I have tried gnomes, but the view literally hurt my head no matter how I adjusted. I had LOOKED at dwarves a bit, but came to the snap judgement that there aren’t pretty girl dwarves. Yes, call me vain, but I want my girls to be pretty. They CAN have red hair. I have red hair. ALL my toons would have red hair if I could. Night Elves can have PURPLE but not RED? W.T.F. ?? All of that aside, can I level in a zone I am not familiar with? Out of my comfort Zones? (Teldrassil and Azuremyst)
So, to help me test myself, and answer my questions I have created Jesslyn. Jesslyn is a level 2 dwarf hunter. She resides on Drenden. Why? Because with the fear of BRK catching me doing something stupid I hopefully push myself to do things the right way. Unlikely? of course, but…I’m a bit paranoid so it works for my self discipline. I have proved one thing. Dwarven women can be pretty. She’s a pretty redheaded female…with a GUN! (click the thumbnail to enlarge and behold my pretty lightbox effect)
good luck! I recently did the same on a random new server to see if I actually could do it all on my own, but mine is a druid rather than a hunter. so far it’s going prety well, ahve managed to make around 200g up to lvl 35 (although I’ve spent around 80g of it) so it IS doable.
I have to ask… what’s the plugin to get the lightbox effect?? very cool

I started nekkid on a server a few days before Christmas, to see how fast I could bring myself to affluence, while still leveling engineering, no help from anyone…
Well, on Christmas Eve a 70 standing outside of IF saw my level seven hunter, dressed in quest rewards and grey drops. She whispered me if I was new to the server, and I said yes…and she handed me ten gold, and said Merry Christmas. I did not have the moral fortitude to refuse it…but I have put it in my mount fund, and am not spending it.
I love the Dwarf lady looks and jokes and dance, everything. Most of my hunters are Dwarves. I did recently start leveling a NE, to use in BGs. Stealthed cat and hunter FTW.
I’ve done this. I was leveling with my wife near IF one day on my priest alt. We were significantly higher than the mobs but they were needed for some quest. There were two other appropriately leveled toons in the cave and we just went in there and cleared out the entire place (of mobs). When we were walking out of there, I went up to them and apologized for increasing their grinding time in the area and gave them each 5g. They both seemed pretty excited about it.
