I was wandering aroud Loch Modan last night, scrounging for quests that were not red. On my way back to the little town I call home I saw a bear in my way. So without thinking it was much more than the average bear It sent Laidee in for the kill. Then saw I had just sent her to certain death. Laidee was level 12, I’m lvl 13, and this bear was Ol’ Sooty. Lvl 20. I healed her as best I could, but he still took her. Enraged at the death of my beloved pet to my own recklessness, I kept going after Ol’ Sooty. He starts toward me I strafe left with a concussive shot. Uh Oh…I have no mana…hey! serpent sting is up BANG. No Mana again, and no pots. Strafe right…concossive shot is up again, as well as arcane, and Ol’ Sooty is at 6% health. 3% after arcane blasts him, One more strafe around the tree…turn auto shot and…..

R.I.P Sooty

You can’t see the health bars all that well in the shot. Also, I wish like heck I could run fraps on this machine. But I still managed to get proof, and a feeling of great pride in my skill as a hunter. How did I learn to do that? Well credit where credit is due. BRK’s Lowbie Hunter Guide Movies.

Well done! Despite playing a hunter since May 2005 I’ve never got the hang of kiting or the jump-shot, maybe in part because I use the mouse to move not the keys, but mostly because my 7 yo has better spatial skills than me. Maybe I should start watching those vids!

those videos are a wonderful tool! Especially if you’re like me, and can’t learn from reading directions or getting verbal instructions. I’m visual, I have to see it being done. I still can’t jump shoot…but I want to learn that too.
