The army can KMA! I just ordered hubby a prepaid cell phone, due to pressure from the unit about not having one. The problem I have with this is that once they have a cell number, they conveniently FORGET you have a real phone when you’re home. Which means, with it being prepaid, that sucker will be turned the hell OFF when he’s home. I frankly don’t see the fuss, he’s always in two places. At work, or home. WTF?? I refuse to get him a billable cell phone. There’s no point in it. I mean he deploys for a year at a time, he goes off to train in the field where they aren’t even allowed to use them, and I’m stuck paying a bill for a phone he can’t use, or jumping through hoops to get it put on hold til he returns. Screw that. I’ll get myself a billable one, and when he’s home he can take it with him. When he’s not, I’ll have it on me for when he calls.
Ok, now that we’re past that. We’ve decided Sundays will be family days. One day of the week that we just go off and do something. Starting tomorrow. I’ve been looking at what I could find for activities on post. There are quite a few really. Most likely tomorrow we’ll take a walk around the lake, and then stop for a swim. It’s pretty hot today, so assuming it will be tomorrow as well. If it decides to rain, well, there’s the post movie theatre. We’ll go see Indiana Jones. We missed out on alot in Alaska due to our stack of bills being a bit shorter than our paychecks. It’s a bit better now, but not much. In seven months however, our largest bill will be finished!! Gas is something we’ve always had to budget pretty strictly with only getting paid twice a month, so I can’t use the current prices as a reason.
The recreation calendar here is awesome, and by next summer we can actually afford to take part in some of the Sunday activities. One is a nice trail ride on horseback through one of the parks. Others include hiking, Whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, and much more. The prices are fair considering they provide the transportation and equipment.
I’ve found that there are at least two pioneer era cemeteries that ended up on the post when it was established. One includes some Indian burials. I hope to find them, but getting information has been a bit difficult. I found them accidentally on a Google search for hiking trails on post. One is called King Hill, I think. I’ll look more during the week, maybe we can find them next Sunday.
Today we are just loafing around the house, playing WoW, probably a pizza night. have a Day!![]()
